Khoj is the first children’s museum in India. It connects science, design and innovation by means of participatory displays. Unlike a regular museum where visitors don’t touch the display, at Khoj the children are encouraged to participate and play with the displayed activities. We believe learning happens best when a child is immersed in a positive, happy experience. At Khoj, we provide that by means games and experiments designed around a certain concept, like soap bubbles, plants or moving images. This spurs imagination and encourages learning. Everyday textbooks don’t provide an interdisciplinary engagement around everyday phenomena that we are able to do. It’s a museum that children and adults will enjoy alike! The museum conducts weekly star gazing activities with an astronomer and daytime workshops on various issues of interest for children.

The museum is dynamic and displays change every 6 months. KHOJ Museum is supported by the Gujarat Corporate Social Responsibility Authority (GCSRA website  hyperlink) and Gujarat State Financial Services Ltd. (GSFS hyperlink).Internationally, the museum is supported bytheZoomkinder Museum (website hyperlink) in Vienna. It is also supported by Vedhshala, an astronomical observatory established in 1953. It is in the premises of this building that the museum is located.
