Planet Earth a Hands-on Learning

Year 2008 was declared as the International Year of Planet Earth. Several activities for Planet Earth awareness were conducted during this year. One of the interesting activity developed by Manthan with the support of NCSTC was a mobile exhibition on Planet Earth. The exhibition consisted of detailed information on Planet Earth like Earth as a Planet of Solar System, What is earth formed of?, Revolution and Rotation of Earth, Gravitation, Atmosphere on the Earth, Life on Earth, Biosphere, Land and Water on the Earth, Life Cycle, Food Chain, Biodiversity, Human Intervention on the Earth and Disturbances Created, Natural Calamities, etc.

This exhibition was an experimental exhibition, which had no panels but several theme based interactive models. This approach to exhibition interested many visitors and people loved to experiment with the models and know more about the Planet Earth. These models traveled several places across the country during the year and benefitted several members across the country.
