This is a kit that looks at both reproductive and maternal health upon birth and targets young women and mothers. It is comprehensive in its coverage of issues of puberty, changes in the body and then going on to sexual reproduction and maternal health. The kit containsa number of measurement tools like looking at weight to check for malnutrition, measuring one’s menstrual cycle and birthing cycle. It focuses a few activities on the importance of breastfeeding, a few on safe sex and even educational activities for adolescents on forming relationships.The kit remains unique for Manthan in its success to translate complex issues both biologically and culturally to simple information tools.
