Eclipses help us understand the solar system. The transit of Venus happens when the planet Venus passes between the earth and the sun in a way that it is visible to earthlings. This is a rare phenomenon that happens every 243 years, and it happens as a pair. This means that it is visible twice over a period of 12 years. The transit is a good opportunity for students to get interested in astronomy and understand celestial world since such occasions are rare. The kit includes a pair of viewer glasses made with black polymer, a flip book that when flipped showed the Venus transition in progress and a chart of dates of the transit going back to the year 1631 among many other activities.
