Human Evolution an Outreach Project

Human Evolution was one of its kind projects of NCSTC and All India Radio to communicate the change in humans as the only beings on Earth to evolve as modern social animal from being an ancient primitive ape, combining the medium of radio and print, which could reach to the doorsteps of the people.

Manthan was involved in designing and development of interactive hands-on material for this project. The material was developed keeping in focus the students across the country. Almost 10 different hands-on activity packages were developed on different subject like Evolution of Man, Human Civilization, Man the Builder, Healing Touch, Energy, Man in the Space, Cradle of Life, Choice Before Us, etc. The material was developed in 18 different languages and the approach was kept hands-on, interactive, fun, self explanatory and low cost. The project went on for two full years and is considered to be one of the world’s longest interactive radio programme, where registered children received the material at their doorsteps and they could learn along with the radio broadcast by playing with the material. The material reached to 1,00,000 registered students directly continuously for two years.
